Motivation

There are three reasons that motivate me to write these short stories.

Self-help

We live in a time when problems are raining down on us from all sides: wars, social unrest, pandemics, the climate crisis. Even movies and TV shows are filled with action, violence and conflict.

I want to get away from that. I’m looking for entertainment that is light, humorous, largely non-violent and yet exciting. That lets us forget our everyday problems for a while and transports us to another world.

I also like the short story genre. It makes it possible to read a self-contained story on a journey, during a lunch break or after getting to bed.

Unfortunately, this is not in the zeitgeist. So I started writing what I would like to read myself.

Experiment

They say that a master has made more mistakes than a beginner made attempts.

With this project, I want to find out whether I can conceive, write and publish exciting stories as an unskilled hobby author. Without any commercial motives, but simply for fun.

I am also curious about the development I will make in the process. Each of us is particularly good at something, but had started quite inexperienced, awkward and even a little naive. When I look back at my early writing exercises, I can already see progress in the quality of my texts.

You can do it too!

I want to motivate you to discover your own creativity and have the courage to publish your work.

When you read books or watch movies, it’s impressive what professionals and masters of their craft can create.

Unfortunately, it’s also quite intimidating and demotivating. You measure yourself against these results and get the feeling that you will never be able to reach such a level yourself. So you often don’t even try.

But it’s completely irrelevant! We should measure our hobbies by the fun they give us, not by the economic benefits.

With this project, I not only want to publish stories, but also write about the path that I have taken so far and will take in the future. I’m a newcomer and self-taught, so my path is certainly quite experimental and doesn’t correspond to the classic way of becoming an author.
